Dr. Ria Gurpreet Sidhu

Dr. Ria Gurpreet Sidhu is a contemporary- transformational academic leader, with 15 years of experience in UK higher education, specialising in Academic Quality Assurance with key focus on assessment strategy development to enhance the provision of both undergraduate (mainly Level 6) and post-graduate programmes.
She is a Certified Business and Management Educator (CMBE) from the Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS) and holds Chartered Manager (CMgr MCMI) status from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), recognising her impactful leadership in higher education. Ria has received the Outstanding Reviewer Award from the Academy of Management (AOM- ABS 4 * Journal) for her scholarly reviews. Ria champions EDI and recognised as Anglia Ruskin University’s Vice-Chancellor’s Outstanding Alumni Award (Finalist twice) for her impactful contribution and EDI advocacy. Her key expertise lies in TNE, enhancing student experience and engagement through innovative teaching and learning (improving commitment to EDI – Equality, Diversity and Inclusion – disruptive) practices.
Ria is a Senior Lecturer (Partnerships) at Bath Spa University, London and is leading on Level 6/Top Up Business Management and MSc Global Business Management Programme for partnerships provision. Ria has been associated with top universities in the UK – like University of West London, Northumbria University, University of Bedfordshire, University of Suffolk, University of Law and Arden University.
She was invited by United Arab of Emirates University (UAEU) to support ‘Innovation and Entrepreneurial Development’ UAEU students. This programme runs inline with Stanford University guidelines for development of entrepreneurial skills.
She won first prize in the Global University Systems Hackathon for her project, ‘Education Co-Pilot,’ which focuses on integrating AI tools into academic education. Ria actively promotes EDI and supports women leaders in higher education. Ria is Advance HE Aurora -Women Leaders in Higher Education programme graduate. Her research interests include Higher Education Management and Pedagogy, the role of AI in HE, and challenges related to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI). Ria is a PhD from the University of Bedfordshire, UK specialising in Business and Management, Pedagogy, and Quality Assurance Policies with Thesis – ‘An investigation into mature students’ intention to enrol in the UK Higher Education’. She is an expert of statistics and structural equation modelling (SPSS-AMOS). Ria is an Electronics and Communication Engineer and holds an MBA in Entrepreneurship from Anglia Ruskin University, UK. Ria is a School Governor in London and sees this voluntary role as her contribution to her local community.
Ria has been appointed as an International Advisory Member for the 3rd International Conference on the Latest Advancements in Science, Management, Commerce, and Educational Research (LASMCER-2025), taking place on August 30th and 31st, 2025, in Toronto, Canada. Ria is serving as a Technical Committee Member for the 2025 IEEE International Conference on Emerging Innovation and Digital Technology, scheduled for November 24th and 25th, 2025, in the Maldives.
